Human Rights Commissars After Me

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to have the KGB knock on your door, ask for directions to the corner store and walk away?  The other morning I had what I imagine to be a similar experience when I received this (see below) envelope in the mail.

After staring at it on my desk, wondering what the Lynch-mob had in store for me, I opened it only to find that it was an acknowledgement of an Access to Information Request.  As they say, in “Soviet Russia, Lynch watches you.”

“Way to go, taxwhiners. Wasting *our* public resources with *your* petty stunts.”

Because, of course, the concept of public institutions in a free democracy being subject to the scrutiny of it’s citizens via Access to Information requests is “petty” and a “waste” of taxpayers money.

The taxwhiners seem rather selective about which public institutions require scrutiny.

1: Do you consider it “petty”.
2: Do you consider it a “waste”.

    Yes or no will do.

I feel similar every time I get a credit card statement, a cheque from a client that happens to be a lawyer, or something in the mail from Revenue Canada.

WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM ME? OH GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?
