Governments of the people, for the people, and by the people, run their credit just like the people. The 60 billion dole-out is certainly a big number, likely proportional per capita with what the U.S. has funded for its own pay-yourselves-first projects. Tough economic times demand tough economic measures, and that meant going into a deficit position, just like the war in Iraq was supposed to have ended 5 years ago. Sometimes it’s “just talk”. We can be thankful for low interest rates right now.
