Ezra and Mark, as expected, were articulate and persuasive witnesses in the committee hearing today. I was pleased to see that the tone of the meeting was very restrained and deliberative. The Chair and committee members from all parties asked intelligent questions, and except for the unnecessarily partisan confrontational tone of MP Dosanjh, they seemed truly interested in investigating this non-partisan issue.
Whether the HRC is ultimately reformed or scrapped remains to be seen, but at least the disgrace of the existing system is being officially reviewed by a Parliamentary committee that actually has authority.
