May I suggest calling them 'the Friends'
Always put a 'the' in front. Makes my skin crawl a little bit more.

Why do they need the CBC to release the names? They have a website. They must have a central email address. It's as simple as them emailing you their names.

There's absolutely ZERO reason why they can't just email that information directly to whomever requested it. If they haven't done so, it says everything.

Hi Mel, I should note that the average MP's income is not $54,700, but a minimum of $157,731. That goes up with anything from being a committee vice-chair, all the way up to the prime minister.

I note the picking of the very highest priced example. Ministers, Prime Ministers etc. I also note the average income of 54,700 for the average MP.
Perhaps we should emphasize the need to reduce their actual job security as a way to reduce pension costs. It's a lot more healthy and is a tool that is readily available to the taxpayer.
In the meantime I wish all these writers would stop cherry picking those at the top of the triangle and write about the whole bunch.

not that I support the high flying expenses but the reality around attendance at the Seafood Show which is one of the largest in the world and is dominated by Atlantic Canadian companies - therefore MacKay would not be there in Defense capacity but as Senior government minister in part of country where fishery is important - please drop your central Canadian bias - as it will start to defray your credibility

Jason Kenny and his former employer, The Canadian Tax Federation, are sliming Peter McKay. This nasty attack is predictable and tiresome.

Harper Ned's to stop Kenny from this kind of stuff.

The pressure does have to be on all employees of the government elected and unelected. That said, this appears to be off base. I believe that staying at the conference hotel is not unrealistic. I do no expect him to be in the cheapest rooms and I would expect a man in this important role in government to have the appropriate level of security free from foreign surveillance and with adequate facilities to perform his duties.
This is not clearly a problem whereas the grey cup expenses become much more of an issue.

Yes it was. We took no issue with the Minister attending the conference. There were however rooms cheaper than $1,400 per night at the same hotel, or other, much cheaper hotels within walking and cabbing distance.
